About Me
Hello, Jonny Kelley here. Filmmaking is my favorite process on earth. From writing, shooting, editing and all-else in between.

I recently graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a bachelors degree in Communication along with a Film Studies Certificate.

Here on my site you can find any noteworthy film that I have been a part of, along with a little description of the film and my role in the production process specifically.

You'll find me acting in just about every video on here, for it is another aspect of film that I have fallen in love with. I've also helped write, direct, and edit the films you'll find here. If I'm not acting in a scene, I'm probably somewhere behind the camera.

Most are student films, or simply DIY projects for fun. When one of my friends were assigned a project for a film class, it met we were all assigned. My fondest memories lie with these films.

Enjoy! and please use my contact information down below if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
Scratch That
Heres a 10-minute short film I made with my friends. I wrote it and acted in it. My cousin shot it, and we edited it together. It's sketch comedy, with a bit of action. We were proud with this one.
Tracks
This one was for a film class. The prompt? No dialogue. So with my brilliantly talented cousins help we told a visual tale of a man's day, and the places he goes. I starred in it, and we wrote, shot and edited it together. We also wrote the music together, in which I played the guitar.
BoNEHeAD
Heres a strange one. My friend and I wrote it for an experimental film class. I starred in it and helped in all other fields as much as I could. A horror-comedy... to pick a genre.
MIAA: Battle of the Fans - Agawam
My high school had great fan sections at sporting events, and I was the "leader" of them. Then we found out about a Massachusetts wide fan competition. My cousin grabbed his camera, and we got to work. We won first place, it was quite an honor.
Peter Pumpkin Head
This one is my friend Ben's project for the experimental class in which I submitted the film above. I acted in it and helped as a production assistant the best I could. He is a really talented and special filmmaker and I felt I had to share it.
A Dying Man Dancing: Trailer
This ones a trailer for a non-existent film. We tried to see how emotional we could make a trailer without having an actual film. I acted in and helped shoot it. It came out quite nicely thanks to my cousin.
a state of mind
This was a project for my cousins film class. It won the best short film narrative fiction student Emmy in 2020. My cousin had the idea for it for a while, and we decided to run with it for his final project. I acted and helped on set.
who you are
Yet another student film, for my cousins class. I acted and collaborated on it. We both had different ideas as to what the meaning of the film is, but we both enjoyed it nonetheless.
The Party Boys
This is another one of Ben's in which I acted and helped shoot. It won best comedy at 2019's Online New England Film Festival. We had a good time making this one.
All My Friends
This one was for a film class in which the prompt was yet again: no dialogue. So, my partners and I came up with a creepy horror short film in which a killer dines with his "friends" who are in fact his victims. He has an odd obsession with corn, and soon learns his reality may be his imagination.
Josh Goodman: The Untold Story of a College Dropout
This was for a Communication class of mine. We had to make a project on how to succeed in college. When I found out we could make a film for it, I wrote this up and we made it happen. I wrote, shot, acted, narrated and edited this one with an iphone.
The Recliner
One day my friend lost his phone in the recliner at my house. I then wrote a short film about it and we made it in a few hours. It was our first time making something decent. It's crazy, but I think it's a good time.
A Writers Block
My classmate Ben saw one of my projects that I acted in, and approached me to act in this one. We partnered up and submitted it together for our class final. I acted and helped edit it. This one started my friendship with Ben.
Chinatown
For this one, my partners and I had to replicate a scene from Chinatown (1974) for a class project. I of course wanted to act in it. Everyone had their own job, but we all made creative decisions together. It came out alright.
More Than Yourself
This ones a minute long druk driving PSA. It won first place in 2017's Stop the Swerve competition. All the credit goes to my cousin Jake for this one. I was just happy to help. I also play the role of the doctor for a split second.
Dirty Deeds
For this one my friends and I went out into the woods with no script. Our only goal was to see how well we could shoot some action scenes, pieced together by a simple narrative. It's nothing special, but we learned a lot.
Good Fortunes
This one was for my friend Ben's class. We had permission to shoot at a local restaurant. We didn't have much time on the two days we shot. Considering all that went wrong and how rushed we were, I think it still came out alright.
The Thrill of the Hunt
For this project, partners were supposed to film a "self portrait" of one-another. This was my partners portrait of me. A man losing his mind chasing a non-existent fly. This ones crazy, don't judge me.
